Major: Energy
Management in an energy-concerned economy
Audience
This Doha-based Major is geared towards executives, senior and mid-level managers:
- With experience in the Energy sector
- Who wish to deepen their knowledge in one or more areas of the Energy industry (e.g. oil & gas, power utilities, renewable energy, power investment banking and trading, power regulators etc.),
- Who might be involved in the definition & implementation of their corporation's energy & climate strategy.
Objectives
This Major addresses the need for leaders to develop a comprehensive and strategic view of energy issues. It will give you the opportunity to:
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of the energy business environment and market drivers,
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of energy technologies, industries and markets,
- Develop and implement strategies to address major issues in energy regulation and policy,
- Focus on managerial issues related to the energy industry,
- Exchange experience and network with other HEC Executive MBA participants and Energy business executives.
Structure
The Major is comprised of two sessions/trips to take place in May and October, respectively. These sessions will be located in key Energy locations in Europe and the Gulf Region. Field visits will be done at relevant companies recognized for their industry leadership and innovative practices.
Faculty
Antoine Hyafil, PhD, Associate Professor, Department Finance, HEC Paris is the academic director of the Energy Major. His centers of interest include: Energy Economy, Transaction Cost Theory, Applications to Finance and Corporate Planning Finance.
