Major: Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Target Audience
This Major is open to all EMBA participants bent on honing their entrepreneurship skills and knowledge regardless of sector experience or preference.
Context
It is universally accepted that entrepreneurship and innovation is a major source of value and wealth creation. The entrepreneurship and innovation field today covers a broad range of topics including the culture of innovation, organic growth, new product innovation, creating new ventures, turnaround management, family business, corporate entrepreneurship, franchising, international entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.
Objectives
This Major aims to help participants to:
- Think and act entrepreneurially
- Stimulate and facilitate a culture of innovation
- Understand and anticipate resistance to innovation
- Understand the roles of the entrepreneur, innovation and corporations in the economy
- Participate in the creative process and drive innovation within their own firms
- Enhance and utilize innovative management skills and best practices within the firm and inside its value chain
- Exchange experience and network with other HEC Executive MBA participants and experienced Entrepreneurs
Structure
The Major is comprised of two sessions to take place in May and October, respectively. These sessions will be delivered in known entrepreneurship regions in the United States and Europe. Field visits will be done at relevant companies and institutions and will include testimonies from successful local entrepreneurs.
