Major: Luxury

This Major is designed for executives and senior managers with work experience within the Luxury sector and who wish to deepen their knowledge and skills set specific to this industry.


Context


Countries like France and Italy might have invented the luxury business. Luxury has become the focus of much attention by corporations, governments and opinion leaders. They recognize it as a dynamic sector and as a direct measure of a country's economic growth which is also directly correlated to people's expectations about their future. Luxury, which could be called "high-touch", develops objects and products at their highest level of perfection and emotion.


Objectives


The Luxury Major aims at providing executives with all the skills and understanding of the luxury culture so that they are able to grasp the essence of its management. It is a business oriented program, with the aim of making the participants competent for taking the right and relevant strategic decisions related to luxury management. This is not about learning mere techniques but about understanding luxury in depth so that the nature of business decisions to be made daily flow naturally. It is also about exchanging experience and networking with other HEC Executive MBA participants and Luxury industry business representatives.


Structure


The Major is comprised of two sessions to take place in May and October, respectively. These sessions will be delivered in key luxury regions of the world including France and Italy. Field visits will be done at relevant companies recognized for their industry leadership and innovative practices.
